In class, we were given a set of lyrics to analyse and write our own take of how we envision the video. These lyrics, to me, represent an idea of a break up that the artist singing didn't want to happen. Therefore, my video was going to be based around this narrative, in the picture below are the lyrics and short pitch of what it would be like.
By doing this piece of work, it furthered my understanding of how to look into the meaning of the song, just based on the lyrics. It emphasises the importance of the lyrics as the visuals will reflect the video, as Goodwin states- there is a relationship between lyrics and visuals. This however, doesn't have to be exact to every word, but normally within a music video there is a clear narrative from the lyrics. Therefore, when creating our own video, we will have a good range of ideas of how to interpret the lyrics as a whole narrative, avoiding watching or taking ideas from the existing video.
