Mock Digipak

After creating a mock magazine advert, we were then regrouped and given a different genre and artist. From this, we had to research and create a mock digipak based on that artist. The research included looking into existing digipaks from that genre, for example I was given the girl group 'Luna Chicks' with the genre pop. A common theme within this genre was the fact the artist/s were featured on the cover, with bold, colourful writing of the title of the single or album. Meaning that we made sure to include a focused picture of the artist and bright writing on the front cover of the digipak. We also needed to research the key features that are evident in all digipaks, such as the record label, copyright terms and a barcode. When creating our own digipak we needed to make sure that there were big enough spines, as this is needed when it eventually gets folded, and a space for the actual disc to go in. This was the finished product:

From doing this piece of work, I was able to get a good idea of what is a generic convention of pop digipaks, this helps as our group are looking to create a pop music video. We also know what the most important elements are to include, that is not related to the genre. Finally, I have a better knowledge on how to edit using Photoshop.
